During Summer Camps, I’ve always collected a mountain of recyclable materials with my colleagues to use for crafting activities with children: bottle caps, cardboard boxes, egg cartons, empty bottles, and so on.
But the recycling superstar is the toilet paper roll, which can transform into anything: binoculars, a boat, a spaceship, an octopus, a mermaid, Santa Claus, and much more.
In this article, you’ll learn how to make a simple craft project that’s perfect for summer: the fish!
To make your fish, you’ll need:
A finished toilet paper roll.
Scissors.
Colored chalk or paint.
Googly eyes.
Draw the outline of the fish with a pencil.
Crop and color.
Finally glue the eyes and add the details.
Let me know if you’ve tried this activity with your kids, and feel free to tag me on instagram to share your creations!
